Supplies Needed:

(all of my patterns include 1/2″ seam allowance)

Step 1

Apply interfacing to all pumpkin pieces
You can use sew in or fusible, whichever you prefer.
Step 2

baste the black piping to the side pumpkin pieces
Add the black piping to all of the far-side and center-side pumpkin pieces along the inner curves.

Step 3

sew the pumpkin pieces together, sandwiching the piping
Press the seam toward the center.

Step 4

Repeat steps 1-3 for the second side of the pumpkin bag

Step 5

apply interfacing to the side bag
Note: I used a contrast fabric for this, but you can use the same fabric as the pumpkin if you prefer
Step 6

hem both sides of the side bag

Step 7

sew the side bag around the pumpkin to the front and back
The side strip will not go all the way around, and should leave your a gap in the top of your pumpkin bag.

Step 8

turn the bag to the right side

Step 9

add single fold bias tape to hem the top edge
Sew the bias tape to the upper edge with right sides together. Then bold the bias tape to the bag and top stitch to finish the upper edge of the pumpkin bag.

Step 10

sew belting for the strap
Sew your length of belting to the center front and center back of the bag to finish it.
Finished!
